Ah….Maypo…it brings back so many childhood memories, my mother and I use to eat it togeather many mornings and its always been one of my favorite things for breakfast, I often have it stockpiled in my pantry like my mother did when I was growing up, Homestat Farm’s, the markers of Maypo have released the old favorite with a modern twist!

Maypo Maple Oatmeal with Quinoa combines maple-flavored whole grain oatmeal with quinoa flakes which are loaded with protein. Quinoa is also a great source of certain healthy fats and are also rich in antioxidants. Just like the original Maypo, the Maypo Maple Oatmeal with Quinoa is still low in sugar with all natural flavoring.

My favorite way to top Maypo is with bananas, walnuts, and cinnamon.

dscf5431Honestly, I didn’t notice much of a different taste from the original flavor which obviously means by adding the quinoa you are not changing the flavor(or at least not to the point where a long time Maypo lover like my self-noticed). I love the added benefits which includes 9 essential amino acids, twice as much fiber as most other grains, contains Lysine for tissue growth & repair, rich in Magnesium to relax vessels & reduce migraines, high in Riboflavin (B2) improving energy and high in Manganese protecting red blood cells.
