Holiday Gift Guide: The Civilized Viking’s Drinking Vessel

Stephs Cheers and Jeers was provided the samples mentioned in this post in return for an unbiased review.

Hammacher Schlemmer has always been one of my go to places to purchase gifts during the holiday season. I was shocked to learn they have been around since 1848 and it all started with a 12-year-old boy named William Schlemmer who began selling tools at his uncle’s hardware store. They published their first catalog in 1881 and by 1912 their catalog contained a total of 1,112 pages. During the 1930’s and 1940’s, Hammacher Schlemmer became known for offering innovating products such as the electric razor and the steam iron. Later on, they would offer the first electric pencil sharpener, food processor, electric can opener, automatic coffee maker, microwave oven, telephone answering machine and cordless telephone. Today they are still known for unique and innovative products.

I am heavy into Viking culture and I identify as norse pagan so I was instantly drawn to their The Civilized Viking’s Drinking Vessel. It seemed like a unique and affordable alternative to other drinking horns so I was really excited to get an up-close look at it.

This drinking vessel is really neat! It’s made from BPA free plastic, is dishwasher safe and holds up to 24 oz of mead, ale or other liquid. It also features a handy neck strap and an aluminum stand to display it when not in use.

The Civilized Viking’s Drinking Vessel makes a great gift for the heathen in your life! It sells for $24.95 and carries a Lifetime Guarantee.
