Hello, everyone! This is Justine and will be guest blogging here on Steph’s Cheers and Jeers. Recently in September, my boyfriend Zack and I took an end of summer trip to Kennebunk, Maine for a week. We made ourselves at home at the Kennebunk Gallery Motel and Cottages, which is a small family owned motel right on Route 1 in Kennebunk. Which is conveniently located right near Kennebunkport, Wells, Ogunquit, Portland, and York!
Zack and I stayed in Cabin 3. It had a porch with a table and two chairs. When you walk inside it was spotless and well put together! It had a kitchen set up with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker the motel also provided us with silverware and plates and bowls. We had a wonderful vacation here, the owners are super friendly people and were very informative as to what to do when you are in the area. They even gave us a free map of all the most popular attractions around!
Zack and I decided we wanted to check out the Maine Wildlife Park which is located at 56 Game Farm Rd in Gray, ME. It’s a small wildlife reserve in the rural town of Gray. Many of the animals at the Maine Wildlife Park were brought there because they were injured or orphaned, or because they were human dependant meaning they were raised, sometimes illegally, in captivity. The wildlife park serves as a permanent home for these animals that can no longer survive in the wild. All sorts of native animals make their home at the park for their protection and healing and are now for the public to learn more about. Zack and I had a great time; the park was clean, and the animals looked very well taken care of. They looked happy and healthy which is what I LOVE to see at a facility like this.
All in all, our trip to Maine was wonderful, and we are going back sometime next year for sure. It’s such a beautiful state to get away to. Zack and I both enjoy being up there taking in all the beautiful scenery and gorgeous views.
