Project Repat T Shirt Blanket Review

ZlDfy__LHi, My name is Stephy and I’m a clothes hoarder! I have been hoarding clothes for as long as I can remember and if they have any sentimental meaning its near impossible for me to get rid of it. My pile of band t shirts and t shirts from companies Ive worked with has been growing over the last few years and I began searching for a way to upcycle them. I’m not very crafty my self and when I came across Project Repat I became super excited.

Project Repat  all started in Kenya after co-founder Ross Lohr was doing non-profit educational work. He was amazed at how many t-shirts were being sent overseas. He began working closely with Kenyan artisans to create bags, scarfs and other great items out of upcycled t-shirts. These items were then returned to the US and sold to raise money for non-profits working in Africa. Folks back in the states fell in love with the idea of upcycling t shirts they were not in love with the idea of bags made out of upcycled t-shirts and thats when the idea of t-shirt blankets was born.

Project Repat is a super easy service to use, you simply choose which blanket you want to receive. You can choose between Lap-16 panels,Twin-24 panels, Full-30 panels, Queen-49 panels, and King-64 panels. You also can choose between panel size 12×12 inch(standard),  8×8 inch(perfect for baby clothing) and 14×14 inch panels(for men’s xl shirts or large graphics). You can also choose the color of fleece the blanket backing will have. You can choose between Orchard, Navy Blue, Light Blue, Grey, Red, Green and Black.

After selecting and prepaying for the blanket, you will be sent a prepaid envelope in the mail You are then responsible for preparing the shirts. Project Repat urges you to NOT cut your own squares, you simply need to cut off the sides of shirts that you don’t want used on the blanket if the t-shirts have logos on both sides and you only want to use one side.I actually sent in two shirts that were completely uncut and they took care of preparing the shirt for me. After you prepare your shirts and mail them in and in 2-3 weeks you will receive your blanket!

Like I mentioned above it was super easy to prepare the shirts for the blanket. The blanket includes some old band t-shirts and t-shirts from companies I have worked with in the past. They received my shirts on August 5th and I received my finished blanket on August 21st and it was shipped with two day shipping. The blanket is well constructed and a great way to upcycle old shirts you might have laying around that hold meaning. This would make a PERFECT gift and I am very impressed with the quality and price.

Project Repat blankets start at $74.99 and reach $289.99. You can also get a T-shirt pillow!
