Rice Pudding

Rice Pudding
Rice Pudding has always been a comfort dessert for me, It’s so easy to make and great for when you have extra milk that needs to be used up! This is the recipe my mother has been using for years, I’m unsure of where she found it but It’s my favorite, I’ve tried others but this is hands down my favorite so enjoy!
Rice Pudding:

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Carolina REGULAR WHITE Rice
4 cups Milk
1/2 cup Sugar
1 tablespoon of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla

  • Combine all ingredients except vanilla in a pan on medium heat
  • Bring to almost boil, Reduce heat and simmer for 35-45 minutes(Depends on the stove) *A Film might form over the top of the mixture while cooking, this is normal, Just Stir the mixture every 10 minutes or so*
  • Remove from heat, Stir in Vanilla and let cool *I usually put it into the fridge soon after it is finished*
  • Sprinkle with Cinnamon and enjoy!

2022 Update: I still make rice pudding probably 6-7 times a year! It’s a great recipe for when you have milk that needs to be used up. It is very rich but I sometimes make double batches and just keep it refridgerated.
