Often times when I tell people I am from Vermont they bring up Maple Syrup…It’s not secret that Vermont is known for its maple syrup, which is why I was really excited to team up with Wood’s Pure Vermont Syrup and highlight their awesome line of flavored syrups.

Since 1920, the Wood’s Family has been mastering the art of maple sugaring. In 2009 they shifted focus to specialty syrups that are both innovative and loved by many. The farm is situated in Randolph, VT and sits on a 1000-acres, 54-acres are mostly maple trees. They have gone from tapping 800 trees to more than 5200 trees this past year and from producing 75 gallons of syrup to 1700 gallons of syrup a year. The owner Albee Wood has been sugaring his whole life and was kind enough to send me along some of his syrups to review.

They currently offer Bourbon Barrel Aged Syrup, Rum Barrel Aged Syrup, Smoked Syrup, Ghost Pepper Syrup, Verdena(Maple Balsamic Reduction), Traditional Syrup and Maple Cream. 13002323_1685520591699832_3570052274525856205_o

The maple syrups I received were high quality and full of flavor. My favorite was the smoked maple syrup which was so flavorful and perfect on pork, I even made an amazing smoked maple syrup glazed pork roast that was a huge hit. My husband really liked the ghost pepper syrup which I’m going to warm you…is CRAZY hot! The maple cream is AMAZING on toast and french toast and I haven’t found a use for the Verdena yet but I’m sure I will. I really like that this syrup is local to me(40 minutes away) and that unlike many people in the industry that sell their syrup, Wood’s offers a great selection of flavored syrups which adds a great depth of flavor to the syrup as well as any dishes you use the syrup in.

Don’t worry! You don’t have to be from Vermont to order from them! You can order directly from their website!
