I have been wanting to try Yoga for a really long time but could never get up the courage to attend a class. I recently connected with Emily Araujo Garganese from Defining Inspirations  who offered to come to my house for a free yoga session!

Emily discovered Yoga 14 years ago in her late teens and has been using this powerful practice to support her during all of lifes challenges. She has turned to Yoga to heal, after having all three of her children, bringing her new strength both physically and mentally. She found that this practice brought a greater awareness of how we perceive ourselves (self talk), what we expect of our bodies and then bringing balance and compassion to find a positive and healthy perspective. Often times we all get hung up on what we “think we should be” or where we “used to be”. These thoughts only produce limitations and are not nurturing where we are “RIGHT NOW”! Her goal is to help people to remember to let go of these types of distractions and challenge ourselves to bring acceptance into our daily living.

Review:

Emily arrived at my house on time for our session, she called me ahead of time to make sure she was bringing the proper props needed since I don’t own any. She arrived with mats, blocks, blankets, yoga straps and a huge smile!

We set up and right from the start she was kind, enjoyable and serene.

We started the session and I found right from the start that it was easy and I was very relaxed. We started off with some meditation and then into yoga poses. She was VERY hands on during the poses to make sure I was getting the most out of poses and that I was physically okay since I do have some disabilities. She was very helpful in explaining all the poses in a way that I understood and did them along with me so I had a visual. She had beautiful music playing in the background that REALLY helped keep the focus on what we were doing. We spent over an hour working on poses. We ended with Shavasana which was a beautiful end. I struggled with a few poses through out the session and Emily was VERY supportive on helping me and made sure that I didnt over do it. Through the whole session she stayed very serene and relaxing. After the session I felt like ALL my anxiety had melted away!

She wrote down the poses for me on a piece of paper with adorable little drawings. The poses we did were Easy Pose, Side Lateral, Knee Pose, Single Leg Forward Bend,Cow and Cat,Downward Dog, Cobra,Childs Pose,Side Plank and a few others.

All around I was SUPER impressed with the session I had with Emily. I felt AMAZING after and so relaxed. I didnt feel intimidated at all and I WILL be taking more classes with her in the future. Emily is VERY professional yet has a welcoming attitude that makes your class feel intimate and you can tell she really cares about each of her clients and that she loves what she does.

I highly suggest checking out her online calender and attending one of her classes!
