Holiday Gift Guide: Evanger’s Pet Food

Stephs Cheers and Jeers was provided the samples mentioned in this post in return for an unbiased review.

Evanger’s started in 1935 when Fred Evanger thought his champion Great Danes deserved the very best. He began making pure meat canned food for them and in 2002 they developed the concept of hand packed food. Their hand packed food line was initially developed for their dog, Yukon who is a Samoyed/Chow Chow mix who preferred dinner steaks instead of ground steak. They decided on putting a whole, unground piece of beef in a can and cook it. Their dog LOVED it and that was the start of their #1 flavor Hunk of Beef.

Evanger's Pet Food

My dogs absolutely LOVE Evanger’s Pet Food, especially the grain free hand packed line which includes whole uncut sardines and whole chicken thighs. They don’t mind the grain free meat lines which include wild salmon and chicken but they really seem to prefer the grain free hand packed line which I think more closely resembles the homemade diet I feed them.

Evanger’s also offers other varieties of dry and wet dog food as well as an entire line of cat food, treats and ferret food.

Evanger’s Premium Dog and Cat Foods are available in more than 5,000 locations, so be sure to use their store locator to find where to purchase near you.
