Why I Love Dorot Gardens Frozen Garlic and Herbs

Stephs Cheers and Jeers was provided the samples mentioned in this post in return for an unbiased review.

I love using fresh herbs and I often freeze excess herbs but they often end up freezer burnt so I was looking for a better alternative. I came across Dorot Gardens and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Dorot Gardens has a wonderful line of pre-portioned fresh garlic and herbs. They grow all their own garlic, basil, cilantro, parsley, chili, and ginger which they pick at peak freshness and then process, flash freeze and package in convenient trays all within 90 minutes of harvest. These trays have a 2-year shelf life which I think is AWESOME but the convenient trays also eliminate the need to chop or measure herbs which saves time when cooking. I love visiting their website too because it is full of great information including recipes and even health facts about the herbs.

I tried the Crushed Ginger, Chopped Basil, and Crushed Garlic.

I love the trays because 1 cube equals 1 teaspoon of herb(1 cube of garlic also equals 1 clove) and the trays are super easy to pop out a cube. I found all three flavors to be super flavorful and very fresh tasting. They absolutely do not have that “frozen flavor” to them.

Their whole line features garlic, ginger, dill, parsley, cilantro, basil, and sautéed glazed onions. You can purchase Dorot Gardens products in the frozen veggie aisle at Albertsons, Dierbergs, Foodtown, Giant, Harris Teeter, Kings, Raley’s, Ralphs, Randalls, Safeway, Save Mart, Schnucks, Shaw’s, ShopRite, Stater Bros., Stop & Shop, TomThumb, Tops, Trader Joe’s, Vons, Wegmans, Weis and Whole Foods.
