Creation Crate teaches you how to build electronics without ANY past experience. Each Creation Crate project is a combination of building hardware and programming, each month you are sent a new project which is slightly harder than last months and at the end of the 12-month curriculum, you will have built a mood lamp, distance detector, theremin and more. Over the 12-months you will also take part in memory exercises, at the end you will be educated on both building hardware and programming.
During the 1st month, you will build a mood lamp, the box features everything needed to create the lamp including the following:
- Arduino UNO R3
- Breadboard
- Chinese Paper Lantern
- USB Cable
- U-shaped Jumper wires
- Regular Jumper wires
- blue, red and green LED
- Light Dependent Resistor (LDR)
- 2.2k OHM Resistor
The hardware was SUPER easy to build, my husband who has past experience building circuit boards and other electronics had it built in a matter of minutes. It seems like a GREAT kit for beginners because as someone who has NO prior experience the directions made sense to me and were very easy to follow.
We ran into some issues with the coding part but was able to figure it out fast with some quick google searches. The booklet included features the code written out as well as a common errors section.
My husband and I had a lot of fun putting this kit together, This was one super unique subscription box and would make a wonderful gift for someone who is interested in learning about electronics and coding.
You can subscribe to Creation Crate for $29.99 a month, $80.97 for three months, $152.94 for six months and $269.88 for 12 months.
