Most cats are not big on things touching their whiskers, My cat is one of them, whisker fatigue can cause a sensory overload which thus can stress your cat out which is why many cats like to eat off of flat dishes. Many cats with whisker fatigue or whisker stress will pull food out of their dish, eat off their paws or even refuse to eat out of a dish that is half empty to avoid irritating their whiskers.
Dr. Catsby’s Whisker Relief Food Bowl is designed with low sides and is made from dishwasher safe Stainless steel and also comes with a rubber mat that prevents the dish from sliding and keeps it in place.
I’ve tried the dish with dry food, wet food, and even water and Fuzzy Bear seems to really like it. I noticed she doesn’t leave as much food left as she does with traditional bowls(she is one of those who will not eat out of the bowl if the food gets too low). The bowl worked with dry food, wet food, and water but because of the low sides, you will have to place the bowl down before filling. Fuzzy Bear took to the dish pretty much immediately and seems to really like it.
You can purchase the Dr. Catsby’s Food Bowl for $19.99.
