I have seen Popkoff’s products at my local grocery store but never tried them, mostly because I wasn’t sure if I was going to like them but I was recently sent free coupons to try some of their products and I was super impressed.

Popkoff’s has been creating farm to frozen authentic Eastern Europe food since 1965. They are committed to using only the highest quality, all-natural ingredients in their products, all of the veggies and fruit used in their products are locally grown and the meats are antibiotic-free and hormone-free. Their products also contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Their products include Pelmeni’s which are savory stuffed pouches that originated in Siberia and have been a staple of Eastern European cuisine for generations. They carry Beef, Chicken, Farmer’s Cheese, Pork & Beef and Veal & Pork flavors. They also sell Vareniki’s which are stuffed Pierogies in Beef, Chicken, Cabbage & Carrots, Cheese & Cherry, Potato & Onion and Farmer’s Cheese.

I used my coupons to purchase Chicken and Farmer’s Cheese Pelmeni’s, I found them in the freezer section at my store near where the frozen veggies are.

They are SUPER easy to cook, you just put them in boiler water and a few minutes later they are ready to eat! The Farmer’s Cheese ones were my favorite and the remind me very much of ravioli’s. My husband ate the Chicken ones and said the chicken was really high-quality tasting. I will definitely be buying Popkoff’s products again in the future! I just wish my store carried more of a variety, they only have 3 flavours.

These make a fantastic dinner idea or are perfect as a side!

Here are some great ideas of what to do with their products.

  • Layer your pierogies in an enchilada dish with sauce, cheese and sour cream for a tasty Mexican bake.
  • Serve chilled with olive oil, Kalamata olives, onions and feta cheese for a refreshing Greek salad.
  • Drop your cooked pierogies into pho noodle or wonton soup for a steaming Asian meal.
  • Whip up some dessert pierogies with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream for a 4th of July barbecue treat.
