I love to bake! I spend many hours in the kitchen baking because it’s something I enjoy to do but it’s also a bit of a stress reliever. I recently teamed up with Batterbox to show you guys and gals just how easy it is to bake at home!
Batterbox is a monthly subscription box that sends you baking supplies and a recipe to make the recipe of the month. Recipes can include cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and so much more. They offer a few different subscriptions to choose from, 1 month is $29.99, 3 months prepay is $85, 6 months prepay is $162.00 and 1 year prepay for $299.90.
I received their April box which makes adorable little cupcakes with chocolate umbrellas.
Each box contains everything you need to make the recipe including ingredients, tools and all that. I only had to add eggs, milk, shortening and butter.
The box included
- Sugar
- Powdered Sugar
- Flour
- Vanilla Extract
- Almond Extract
- Cupcake Liners
- Yellow Chocolate Melts
- Umbrella Molds
- Sprinkles
- Sky Blue Icing Coloring
- 2 Piping Bags
- Recipe Card and How to Guide
The recipe card and how to guide were both really detailed and very easy to follow. I melted the chocolate melts in the microwave and put the chocolate in the mold and put them in the freezer about an hour before I decided to make the cupcakes. These cupcakes are seriously so adorable! You fill the bottom of the cupcake liner with a small amount of blue cupcake mix for the “puddle” and you then add the sprinkles into the rest of the batter which is the “rain”. I then filled the rest of the cupcake liners and baked them in the oven, by the time they were done the umbrellas were done and I decided to make the frosting. The frosting was SO simple to make and tasted amazing! I loved the almond extract!
They might not LOOK the best but they were SO tasty! I was really impressed with the April BatterBox. This box literally is failproof because of the step by step guild, I normally fail miserably at making frosting but thanks to the step by step guide it came out amazing! This box would be a GREAT project for parents and children to do together. I think the price is also a STEAL considering everything you receive, there is literally no worrying about having the right tools or the right measurements of dry ingredients.
