GalloLea Pizza Kits started in 2010 when Tom Gallo using his grandmother’s pizza sauce recipe wanted to create a pizza that was good, healthy, easier then from scratch, he decided to use whole wheat flour to make a crust that wouldn’t need a long rise time (typically hours, or in some cases, overnight); and not require kneading. This lead his wife Susan to create kits that anyone could use to make fresh home made pizza in less then 30 minutes.
They were nice enough to send me along three kits to try!
There are multiply flavors to choose from including whole wheat, BBQ pizza, gluten free, gluten free BBQ and low sodium. Each kit includes a sauce pack, crust mix, and Round, hi-temperature Pizza Paper. It is SUPER Easy build your Pizza on the Paper, then into the oven (or onto the grill) for 7-10 minutes. That Simple!
Step By Step:
1. Mix the dry crust with water.
2. Using your hands, press the crust out onto the paper.
3. Top with your favorite toppings from simple to gourmet.
4. Bake – Pizza and Paper go into the oven, or onto the grill, and in minutes, you have homemade pizza!
The whole wheat crust contains Whole wheat flour, unbleached bread flour, yeast, raw sugar, Celtic Sea Salt, black pepper and vitamin C and the sauce contains Vine-ripened tomatoes (tomatoes, tomato puree, citric acid), extra-virgin olive oil, Celtic Sea Salt, garlic, raw sugar, basil, oregano and more spices.

Review:
The kits had super clear directions and I found the crust really ease to make, the sauce tastes so fresh tasting and has an old fashion tomato sauce flavor. I love how I was able to enjoy home made pizza at home in less then 30 minutes. My family really liked the whole wheat crust. The website has some great recipe ideas and I think these kits are great for kids to help make since they are so easy! I love the idea that BelloLea does fundraising because lets admit it most of us are getting sick of popcorn, wrapping paper and candy.
