The Olive Table brings the flavors of Greece right into your home with their selection of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Raw Honeys. For many years, Dianne’s mother in law would send her 20-liter tins of olive oil from the family farm, at one point she had so much olive oil that she started gifting it to people. She received such positive feedback she launched The Olive Table in 2011. In 2012, the launched their first product called Private Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil which was imported directly from their family’s groves in Kyparissia, Greece. In 2013, they expanded their product line to carry single estate Organic Early Harvest EVOO and four varieties of Greek honey. Their supplier of the organic oil is their cousin Spyros Kotsovolos who teams up with The Olive Table to bring his olive oil the US. Their honey is sourced from father and son beekeepers whose family has practiced the art of beekeeping for generations. They continue to pass the knowledge and tradition from one generation to the next. The Gionis family is so concerned with not disturbing their bees and affecting their honey production that they refuse to wear protection clothing. They believe this results in the beekeeper being more careful when handling the hives. They spend much of the year relocating their hives all over Greece to find the densest concentrations of one type of tree or flower, which results in honey with the purest flavor.
The Olive Table is currently based in Woodstock, VT which is not far from me. They were so kind to allow me to try some of their products!
I received two sample bottles of olive oil as well as three samples of honey and I was very impressed with the taste of both the olive oil and taste. The olive oil was very clean tasting and is great for roasting vegetables and the honey is perfect for putting on toast. It’s great being able to experience the tastes of Greece from the comfort of your own home!
Their products are available at select retailers as well as online.
