I hate doing dishes! Seriously! Id rather do ANYTHING else then do dishes! One of the reasons I hate doing dishes is my sponges get REALLY nasty! I blame our well water and I always find my self throwing out sponges because I just don’t want to smell them…Yeah I will be blunt lol! Who wants to smell gross nasty sponges?
I was so happy when I came across Calendar Sponge! I thought YAY! No more gross sponges!
Calendar Sponge all started when owner Wendy Lovato learned the health risks that came with using dirty sponges after watching a TV segment on Oprah called, “Is Your House Making You Sick? She was so curious she decided to do some additional research and learned kitchen sponges are the #1 source of household germs. She decided to discuss her findings with her brother and after some additional research they discovered that experts recommend replacing kitchen sponges every 30 days and thats when Calender Sponge was created!
Calendar Sponge is the only sponge on the market that REMINDS you every month to replace your sponge. Each sponge has a month in big bright bold yellow letters the best part of all in my opinion is they come packaged one year at a time! No more running to the store because you ran out of sponges!

I just LOVE the idea behind these! I store the extras away and at the end of the month just toss the sponge and move onto the next one. I use Dawn dish soap and I did notice sometimes if I used it on the scrubby side that the yellow lettering would come off but I just stopped being so rough and it stopped. The sponges lasted the WHOLE month and by the last day still had a lot of life left to them physically but as studies have shown are loaded with bacteria.
Calendar Sponge sell for $12.99 plus shipping!

I replace my sponges all the time..I wash them in bleach, but still don’t use them very long…there is nothing worse than a nasty sponge…
Sweet in deed !!
I replace mine about once every 2 months. I always wash plates once with the sponge to get food off, then rise, and handwash a second time with just soap though since I know they sponges must be germ ridden.
I replace about every two months, but now sooner
This looks like a great product!
I put my sponges in the microwave for about 2 minutes every couple of days (to kill germs). Still, I replace them once they start to smell. The Calender Sponge is a neat idea, but my first thought was “that lettering is going to wear RIGHT off”….
I replace every couple of weeks.
I wasn’t sure how often you were expected to use a sponge before throwing it away. I use bleach and Dawn when washing dishes so I figured that helped with some bacteria. I usually just toss them in the dishwasher to get them clean. Besides if they’re too yucky – I just toss them. They aren’t too expensive and I’d rather be safe than sorry!
Nothing worse than a smelly sponge; I won’t use ’em! I launder mine with the dishtowels.
I did not know I was supposed to replace my sponges monthly, but I do try to throw them out often.
often but not enough
Probably monthly ,with a soaking in bleach in between.
Usually change mine like every 2 months, but guess I was doing it wrong!!
We replace ours every couple months….oops!
