I live SMACK DAB in a valley in rural Vermont. I swear my house is positioned in the WORST possible spot because if the wind blows right I lose power, When it snows, I lose power and sometimes I swear I lose power with no explanation. So anyways I always lose power at the WORST possible moments, usally when I’m in the middle of cooking dinner and because everything is electric, your pretty much out of luck until the power comes back in. I remember last winter we went two days without power because of lines being down due to heavy snow. How in the world am I suppose to feed my family? I mean I guess we could evacuate but pretty much everyone in the local area has that issue so what good is that going to do? I surely am not going to stand in deep snow to try and cook on the grill in a blizzard! So I was SUPER excited when I came across Chef 5 Minute Meals.
Chef 5 Minute Meals is a great resource for prepackaged meals that are Self-Heating and Shelf-Stable. Their full product line includes their traditional Chef 5 Minute Meals™ and Gourmet Meal Kits for Disasters. They have also added Chef 5 Express™ Meals and Chef 5 Bucket Meal Kits. The meals are fully self heating and even include the water needed to activate it. They also have a shelf life of 5 years and sell a variety of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner meals. They are great for camping, hunting or prepping for a disaster.
The meals are SUPER easy to cook and cook in 5 minutes. Use caution though the steam and box DOES get hot and can heat up to 200° F.

I was sent two flavors to try, I really love how it has everything you need to cook it, unlike other meals I’ve came across in the past you have to have access to hot water and when we lose power we have NO running water so the fact this includes everything including water sets them apart from other companies, catches my attention and is why I would chose this over other companies. The food tasted good and everyone loved it, I was amazed at how fast it cooks and how much steam comes out of it. So be super careful at where you place it. These are definitely convenient and I want to stock up for when we lose power!
