When my chronic pain gets really bad I DREAD cooking dinner and with my stomach issues eating processed food is just not an option anymore and the only real places we have to eat in my area for take out is fast food so I began looking for a solution! Something that makes cooking dinner on those nights easy and convenient, that’s where Dinner Thyme comes in.
Dinner Thyme delivers fresh prepped and portioned ingredients with a step by step recipe cards so you can create fast and easy home cooked meals. I have reviewed a few similar boxes in the past but my favorite thing about Dinner Thyme is I literally had to do very little prep work, I hate cutting vegetables so I love the fact that they deliver precut vegetables and other ingredients. I also love the fact that the meals are designed to cook in 10 – 15 minutes which is really convenient on my high pain days.
I had the chance to try out four single portion meals from their 4/18 menu.
The meals I received were Pineapple Salmon Tacos With A Sour Cream Sauce, Maple and Soy-Glazed Flank Steak With Asian Soba Noodle Slaw, Cheese Tortellini In A Cream Sauce With Kale & Sundried Tomatoes and Pork Medallions In A Mushroom Sauce With Warm Fingerling Potato Salad.
The first thing I noticed is that every ingredient has a color coded sticker which matches up to each recipe card, I LOVE this idea because it cuts down and makes for a fast meal even faster.
The Pineapple Salmon Tacos With A Sour Cream Sauce were SUPER unique! They were so tasty and I LOVED the Honey Pineapple Glaze! The Pineapple Pico was also super unique and this was super fun to cook and assemble. It took around 10 minutes from start to finish and I would absolutely make these again. This meal features 710 calories and was SUPER refreshing.
The Maple and Soy-Glazed Flank Steak With Asian Soba Noodle Slaw was my favorite!
I have never worked with Soba Noodles before so I was a little worried they were not going to come out right but I followed the recipe card exactly and they were SO good! I loved the Asian Slaw and Oyster Sauce! The recipe card states it’s 14 minutes time to table and is 487 calories.
The Cheese Tortellini In A Cream Sauce With Kale & Sundried Tomatoes was another one of my favorites!
I LOVE Tortellini and Kale so I was really excited for this meal, The Sundried Tomatoes, Garlic and Shallots came cut up which was really nice because like I said above I hate cutting up vegetables. The Pesto Toast was a really great idea and I am really hooked on it now! This meal took around 12 minutes time to table, contains 863 calories and made for a super tasty lunch!
My husband really loved the Pork Medallions In A Mushroom Sauce With Warm Fingerling Potato Salad.
This particular recipe took the longest and next to the Maple and Soy-Glazed Flank Steak with Asian Soba Noodle Slaw had the most steps. My husband LOVED the fingerling potato salad and asked me to make it again. The Marsala Sauce did not turn out exactly like I wanted but my husband said this was his favorite out of the whole bunch.
This particular order was $56.80 shipped which is considerably less than competitors but I was MORE impressed, Dinner Thyme has a great variety of dinners to choose from and they even offer dessert! I am very impressed and would purchase from Dinner Thyme in the future.
