Money is often SUPER tight for me and having a husband AND a teenager daughter I just can NOT keep milk in my house(we go through at least 3+ gallons a month) and the price of creamer is so expensive.
A friend of mine recently gave me two huge boxes of nonfat dry milk and I have never used it before and then it hit me! Why not make home made creamer!
The recipe is SUPER Simple and works great as a base to add other flavors to!
1 cup of nonfat dry milk
1/4 cup-1 cup of sugar(Depends on your preference I use 1 cup because I like sweet coffee)
2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil(this adds a GREAT flavor and a bit of a creamy texture)
I melted the coconut oil in the microwave and added a few drops of vanilla extract but you can add other flavors such as cinnamon, brown sugar crystals or more. Go wild with it!
Mix nonfat milk and sugar in a bowl, melt coconut oil in microwave for 50 seconds(this step would be a great time to add the vanilla or other flavors). Remove from microwave, stir and add to milk/sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly(it will look lumpy but no fear! It will break down when added to hot coffee)
When adding the mixture to the coffee you will notice the coconut oil will rise to the top of the coffee but it doesn’t affect the taste.
Store in a cool dry place with a lid!
