This recipe was given to me by an old friend of mine! His father use to make these for me all the time and I fell in love how easy and good they are! As someone who isnt a big fan of hot dogs but with hot dogs being cheap this is my go to recipe!
This are often called “Jersey” Dogs as well!!
What you need:
Four Hot dog or sandwich buns
Six Potato’s
One Large Green Pepper
One Onion
Four Hot Dogs, Natural Casing work the best
Toppings
Oil
*The original recipe calls for just the above, but I often add different stuff every time I make them such as Mushrooms, Hot peppers etc*
1) Heat Oil in the pan, slice potato into small cubes, sprinkle desired seasoning over potato’s, cook until soft.
2) Remove potatoes from heat, should be browned and soft, Slice up onions and peppers small and cook on medium heat until soft. *this is the step you would throw in extras in the pan such as mushrooms*
3) In a frying pan cook hot dogs to desired liking. I personally grill the rolls at this step as well
4) Now this is the step to build your hot dog!! Personally, I find it easier to put the potatoes on the bottom of the bun than the hot dog and everything else on top!!
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!
