Fuzzy Wuzzy sure can make a mess with her food, especially her dry food! I am always cleaning up excess on the floor and my vacuum isn’t taking too kindly to it. So when I came across Neater Feeder I thought hey! why not try it! They sent me one Neater Feeder System in Cranberry, and boy was it interesting!
Neater Feeder is designed to catch excess food and water, spilled food is caught by the upper reservoir and spilled water trickles through the grate and is collected in the lower reservoir. As shown in the picture below
At first Fuzzy wasn’t sure of it, I have used plastic bowls since day one with her and I think the new design scared her a little to be honest but she used it right away.
I love the idea that the Neater Feeder system comes with two stainless steel dishes, they are so easy to clean and they don’t smell after a while like plastic does.
The Neater Feeder is designed for food and water, but I found that Fuzzy would either dump all her water out or would drink it so I was constantly having to refill it and I don’t have a problem with that, I just worry that she will be without water when I’m not home, so I switched her back to her original water fountain and use the Neater Feeder strictly for wet and dry food only.
After I started using the Neater Feeder and switched it to dry and wet food only, she seems to not make as much of a mess, I want to remind folks though that if you use it for water, make sure you clean and keep clean the lower reservoir! Its easy to clean and definitely saves my floors.
In the end, I love this product, I don’t use it how it is directed to be used, but I still love it. The bowls and the reservoirs are so easy to keep clean and catch all the spilled food from getting on the floor, plus I have my cats dish right in front of the microwave and I have kicked it a few times and I don’t have to worry about it spilling everywhere! All though it did a good job at catching spilled water, I felt worried that my cat wouldn’t always have access to drinking water which is why I switched her back to her fountain. She uses it every day and she surely seems to love it! The design is great and the price is wonderful!
