Chronic pain has changed my life in many ways and often prevents me from being able to do things I used to. One of those things is baking, before my chronic pain got really bad I would bake multiple times a week from scratch, now I struggle with it so I don’t bake nearly as much as I would like to. I came across The Mason Jar Cookie Company when I was searching for baking mixes and was super eager to give their products a try.
The Mason Jar Cookie Company sells mixes in mason jars and softjar pouches that contain all of the dry ingredients you need for recipes we all love including cookies, brownies, hot cocoa, granola, muffin, pancakes and more. They even have an option to make your very own jar which allows you to pick a base and add ins(candies, nuts, dried fruit and etc) to craft your very own signature mix.
The first mix I tried is their Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix.
It features their traditional base mixed with milk, white and semisweet chocolate chips. One thing I really like about their mixes is they work well with butter and egg substitutes, I personally choose to follow a more traditional approach by using egg and butter but I really like that their mixes can easily be made dairy free and egg free.
The cookies came out AMAZING! They were super moist and very flavorful, I really liked this mix because it’s pretty much a classic recipe and who doesn’t like chocolate chip?
This jar makes 24 cookies and sells for $13.99
I also had a chance to try their Festive Celebrate! Cookie Mix in their softjar pouches, these are a great alternative to the mason jars because they are not made with any glass so you don’t have to worry about breakage. The pouch is also designed to stand up and comes in their most popular blends including Triple Chocolate, Berries N’ Chocolate, Orchard Oatmeal and more.
The Festive Celebrate! Cookie Mix features rainbow sprinkles and candy-coated chocolates mixed with their Traditional Sugar cookie base.
These were my favorite out of the two, the cookies have a nice crunch because of the candy-coated chocolates and the sprinkles just make them super fun looking.
The Celebrate! Cookie Mix in a SoftJar Pouch also make 24 cookies and sells for $7.99.
I really love these mixes because they are so easy and convenient to use, you just have to add 1 egg and 1 stick of butter and then bake. They have allowed me to enjoy baking again and the mixes produce some tasty results! My family even though I made them from scratch!
They have a wonderful selection of mixes to choose from on their website and through retailers such as Crate & Barrel, Eli Zabar, HSN and the Food Network.
