I have had a crazy obsession with glitter most of my life so when I came across Lit Cosmetics I was so excited to see they offer a full range of glitter makeup. I have some experience with glittery eyeshadows but I don’t with loose glitter so I decided to give their lit glitter kits a try because I love the idea of being able to create some awesome looks with loose glitter. Their products are also vegan, hypoallergenic and cruelty-free which is something I really look for when purchasing cosmetics.
Lit Cosmetics offers one of the largest selection of glitter products on the market and is associated with Bloomingdale’s, Sephora, Cirque du Soleil, and Beautylish, they also received the “Editors Choice Award” by Temptalia. Many love them for their quality and product performance and the fact that their products are safe to use. My first concern was the idea of glitter being around my eye but after looking over their website I learned that all of the glitter used in Lit Cosmetics are made from round plastic so it will not irritate the eye. With the proper application you will not get glitter in your eye, now the proper application is the key here! It took me a few tries(and looking over their website) to get a hang on how to properly apply it.
As you can see by the picture above, the glitter is super lumpy, that means the base was applied to thick and it will end up looking messy because this product is designed to be applied lightly and then fanned out.
There is a huge difference as you can probably see. With the second attempt, I had almost NO fallout so its super important to apply correctly to get the full effect of the product.
In the picture above I have swatched(in order): Heartbreaker, Cher, Hello Sunshine, Hoochie Mama(that name made me laugh SO HARD!!) and Oprah.
What I love about the glitter kits is they came with everything you need including liquid adhesive, loose color, and two brushes. Another concern I had with these products was how hard it would be to remove but with a little bit of warm water and a cloth, I was able to easily remove it.
The possibilities are endless with this product, I did some googling about it and it really isn’t just made for eyes! I have seen other bloggers use it on lips and even add it to other beauty products for a touch of sparkle. I personally love this product and think its one of my favorite make up products I own.
You can purchase Lit Glitter kits for $26 and you get to choose the color and base type.
