Gramma in a Box is a subscription box that delivers three cookie and candy crafts to your doorstep every month. Each box contains homemade cookies, frosting, sprinkles and more so all you have to do is decorate because there is no baking required. Most of the boxes have a holiday theme and I had a chance to check out the March box which had a St Patrick’s Day theme.
Gramma in a Box started when Terry Chamberlin’s three grandchildren moved to another state, she began boxing up treats and sending them to them through the mail so they could decorate them together when they Skyped. My Grandmother also used to mail me goodies in the mail so this brought back some really fond memories for me.
I was SO excited to try Gramma in a Box because I love to decorate things like cakes and cookies but with my chronic pain, I don’t always have the energy to bake so I loved that I could just open up the box and start decorating cookies without much prep.
The box contained the following:
- 2 pieces of wax paper
- 6 pretzel rods
- 1/2 cup of Krispy rice cereal
- Shamrock Sprinkles
- White and Green Nonpareils
- Green Sprinkles
- Gold Coins
- 8 St. Patrick’s theme cookies
- 6 small paper cups
- 1 package of green and white melting chocolate
- 3 tubes of frosting.
A card included in the box states you will need scissors, a microwave, 1 small microwave-safe bowl, 1 small bowl for the sprinkles, 1 paper plate, 2 knives and 1 spoon.
The first project is for Shillelagh’s(Irish Walking Stick).
They were SUPER easy to make and came out adorable and more importantly they were super tasty.
The second project was for Crock Of Gold Bites and used leftover melted chocolate from the first project.
These came out SO adorable and were super tasty, I have never thought of mixing Krispy rice with Melting Chocolate but I will definitely be doing it again in the near future.
The last project was Cookie Decorating!
Here is a picture of the final products:
I had so much fun doing the projects in this month’s Gramma in a Box. My husband and I treated it as a date night activity and while this book is aimed towards younger children we both had loads of fun and I would definitely subscribe even though we don’t have any children.
You can get your first Gramma in a Box for $1 with the use of the coupon code 19off at check out. Otherwise, the box is $20 a month, 3 months prepaid for $55, 6 months prepaid for $110 and 1 year prepaid for $220.
