I am a MASSIVE meat snob! I am someone who can definitely appreciate high-quality meat and I refuse to settle for low quality! I recently came across Tender Belly and was super excited when they decided to team up with me.
Tender Belly started in 2010 and became very popular shortly after the launch. People just could not pass up the high quality and fantastic tasting pork products they offered. Tender Belly understands that high-quality meat takes time and commitment, their animals live a stress-free life open space to roam and exercise. They are also fed an all natural 100% vegetarian diet. One of my favorite things about Tender Belly is they team up with small family owned farms in Iowa, Missouri, and Colorado.
Some of their products include bacon, hams, franks, ribs, tenderloins, and even roasting pigs!
I received a package of their Dry-Rub Uncured Maple Bacon and Applewood Smoked Berkshire Pork Uncured Franks.
Their Dry-Rub Uncured Maple Bacon contains no nitrates and is loaded with flavor! The pigs used for their bacon are from Iowa and use NO antibiotics, NO hormones, NO gestation and NO nitrates or farrowing crates. Their signature maple and spice rub is applied, the bellies are dry cured and then cherrywood-smoked. The ingredients include Pork, Sea Salt, Brown Sugar, Celery Powder, Maple Sugar, Spices, and White Sugar. Their bacon is $14.75 a pound and if you purchase multiple packages you can get a discount. For $59 a month you can get 4 lbs of bacon as part of their Bacon Every Month Club.
Their Applewood Smoked Berkshire Pork Uncured Franks are made using coarse ground hind leg meat from 100% Berkshire pork. They are smoky, sweet and salty! The ingredients include 100% Berkshire Pork, Water, Salt, Turbinado Sugar, Spices, and Natural Flavorings.
Their franks are $9.95 a package.
Review:
Like I said above I am a SUPER meat snob and Tender Belly’s meat really impressed me! Their bacon was absolutely PHENOMENAL and I honestly think its some of the best tasting bacon I have ever tried. My husband also liked the fact that it was well balanced in flavor and not salty like some bacon. The franks were super flavorful and like the bacon were well balanced in flavor. I think their prices are reasonable considering everything that goes into their products and how high quality they are.
A big thank you to Tender Belly!
