A big thank you to Jackie of Gaines Farm for providing My Husband, my Mother and I with complimentary entry to the Corn Maze.
The Gaines Family Farm in the small town of Guilford, VT has been around for over 200 years! However Gaines Farm is not just a beautiful historical farm, its a great destination for fun fall events with the family.

The last day to visit Gaines Farm is 11/01/2015 however they will be returning for an AWESOME year next year!
Here is a recap of my visit!
The farm was SUPER easy to find as its right off Route 5!
As soon we we pulled in we were greeted by the ADORABLE Cow Train!(and yes before you ask, adults CAN and are encouraged to take a ride on the Cow Train as well!)
As we received our wrist bands and headed towards the entrance of the maze we were handed a few little handy sheets to help us out! The first one was a little green map that lists different checkpoints so you can easily find out where you are. The next was The Farm Scene Investigator Clue Book! Farmer Joe is missing, there was an accident and it appears to be foul play. There are seven animal suspects and you need to collect evidence to find out who committed the crime. You will find six locations within the maze and at each location will be a picture that features an animal, place and weapon. With the provided punch you then punch your card to narrow down who did it! I won’t spoil the surprise but It wasn’t the chickens even though I though it was!(You can never turn your back on chickens!). The last paper was a clue sheet that listed 10 multiple choice movie/music and TV passport questions, these questions link up to the numbers on your green map and can be used to help you if you become lost.
We made it through the maze I would say within an hour and a half and surprisingly we didn’t get very lost! After going through the maze we decided to explore a little more of the farm.
Here are a few great things Gaines Farm has to offer other then just the maze.
They also have some GREAT food items at SUPER affordable prices! I bought the fried bread dough(which keep in mind at most local events and fairs can cost anywhere from $5-$9) I really thought their food prices were very affordable and my fried bread dough was AWESOME!
Even though tomorrow is the last day for the corn maze, I highly suggest that you visit Gaines Farm next year! I will post the dates for 2016 as soon as they are posted. My family had a blast and Gaines Farm also has items like Maple Syrup, Hay, and Farm Raised Beef when the maze isn’t running.
Gaines Farm is located at 6343 Coolidge Highway (US Rt. 5) in Guilford, Vermont.
