If you have been a following for awhile you might remember me mentioning that my husband is Scottish. Shortbread is one of our FAVORITE foods but it takes A LOT of butter to make my recipe(Two sticks to be exact). So sometimes I don’t like making it because when I DO make it I often make a double or triple batch. Walkers Shortbread has always been one of the brands that we like because it tastes closest to traditional home made shortbread.
Walkers Shortbread has been making shortbread for over 1o0 years! It all started in the Speyside village of Aberlour. It stated in 1898 when Joseph Walker opened a village bakery, now his grandchildren and great grandchildren that carry on the tradition. Though the Walker family have added many new products to their range during the last century, each and every one holds to those original values of quality. Walkers products are sold all over the world today, even though they have grown so popular they still bake their shortbread in short batches. Their shortbread only contains flour, pure creamery butter, sugar and salt, they actually pride themselves because their products don’t contain absolutely no artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives. They also sell oatcakes, biscuits, cakes, tarts and more.

Walkers has always been one of our favorite brands, so of course I was impressed. Their shortbread is very traditional tasting and so buttery! I will always turn to Walkers for ANY of my Scottish treats needs!
