We are officially into the second trimester which has been a super exciting time. It’s been a very interesting experience being pregnant but sadly I have diagnosed with a severe case of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Hyperemesis Gravidarum is potentially a life-threatening pregnancy complication that consists of weight loss, malnutrition, dehydration, and debility due to severe nausea and/or vomiting.
I have been battling a severe case of vomiting, dehydration and weight loss which has landed me in the hospital a few times needing IV fluids and treatment and HG has caused me to totally change my course of care during my Pregnancy from a midwife and a birth center to a midwife AND an OBGYN in a hospital setting. I also was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism which is going to require me to see an Endocrinologist.
Due to HG and the Hypothryodism and some complications caused by both I have realized my best course of action is rest which is going to require me to take a short hiatus from my blog. Luckily HG typically goes around 16-20 weeks so I’m hoping things get easier!
I will keep doing updates!
