Many of my readers know that I have strong views on animal rights. I have a rescued cat, I volunteer at the Springfield Humane Society with my Mother when I have the extra time and I am not unwilling to protect for animals rights if I feel its appropriate(I have protested a few times to try and get the circus from visiting our town). I am strong for adopt don’t shop and I wear and use only cruelty free items. Iv been approached a few times being asked to review circuses, animal shows and more and I always decline because these things are against my personal believes. For awhile I have been looking for companies related to animals right to display how I feel on apparel and when I came across Calico Dragon I was so excited to see everything I stand for on their website!
Calico Dragon was designed with one idea in mind, to benefit animals. They wanted to spread awareness about animal cruelty but also to donate to a cause while producing cruelty free items. A portion of each sale is donated to a charity). I was SUPER excited to see Big Cat Rescue on their list as I adore everything they do and stand for.
There is a beautiful story surrounding the start of this business. The first order was produced by Anne Chenn, A woman who started a home based business in China and as a result of that she was able to escape an abusive husband. Calico Dragon’s line was able to help other woman and single mothers like Anne support them selves as well as their children. This is just wonderful and this makes me really appreciate the business owner for helping out people as well as animals.
The bags are made from up-cycled material that are completely vegan, materials for orders are purchased from factories and the scrap matieral being used prevents it from ending up in a landfill.

I was HIGHLY Impressed with this bag, Its very high quality, lives up to the daily activities that take a real beating on my purses, normally I go through about three or four purses a year but I’ve had this once since January and its going strong. I love the message it conveys and I love everything the company stands for. I will defiantly be purchasing from them again as they have a few other bags I would love to own.
