Mug Cake Recipe!

DSCF2115

I LOVE Brownies, Cake and other chocolate desserts, but I don’t always have the time or motivation when I get a craving, espically if its after a long day, and we just KNOW store bought always doesn’t taste homemade, so here is a easy recipe for Mug Cakes for two!

(I apologize ahead of time the recipe uses tablespoons only, as my dog ate my measuring cups however if you only have cups here is a great convertor)

8 tablespoons of flour (For one mug cake 4 tablespoons)

8 tablespoons of sugar(for one 4 tablespoons, however I prefer mine more surgery so when I make these I do 9 tablespoons for 2 and 5 for 1)

6 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder(for one mug 3 tablespoons)

8 tablespoons of water(for one mug 4)

4 tablespoons of oil(anything but olive oil works! Coconut oil is GREAT, 2 for one)

Toppings(Ice cream and sprinkles works AMAZING!)

When I make these two, I tend to mix them in a bowl ahead of time because its just easier, however you CAN mix these right in the mug.

I grease the mugs LIGHTLY with coconut oil,it adds a nice “crust” and flavor however you do NOT have to grease the mugs.

Mix the above ingredients in a microwave safe mug, make sure to stir lightly so the batter is well mixed but not over mixed.

I cooked them both together at 1 minutes 30 seconds in my 900 watt microwave, however I suggest starting with 30 second intervals and going from there. I eat mine as soon as they come out of the microwave but if you let it cool it tastes more like a brownie, if you eat right away the texture is very cakey.

You can experiment with this recipe by adding chocolate syrup into the mixture or emit the chocolate and add vanilla for a vanilla cake or add other flavors!

Enjoy!
