When I first saw the preview for Thor: Ragnarok I was so excited and I couldn’t wait for its release. I sadly missed seeing it when it was in theaters so when I got my hands on a digital copy the Hubby and I spent date night watching it and it is my by far my favorite movie so far this year.

Thor: Ragnarok is the third installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it follows Thor(Chris Hemsworth) who is imprisoned on the other side of the universe as he struggles to return to Asgard and stop The Goddess of Death Hela(Cate Blanchett) and save Asgard and its civilization from Ragnarok. At one point Thor must battle his former ally and fellow Avenger, The Incredible Hulk(Mark Ruffalo) in a deadly gladiator battle.

Thor also faces off with Loki((Tom Hiddleston), the fierce warrior Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) in an effort to stop Ragnarok. The movie also features guest appearances by Doctor Strange(Benedict Cumberbatch), Luke Hemsworth and Matt Damon.

Verdict:

This is by far my favorite Thor movie out of the three, it might even be my favorite Marvel movie to date. It is jammed pack with action and humor, there were a few times that my husband and I actually had to rewind the movie because we couldn’t stop laughing. One of our favorite things about this movie was the soundtrack, it is PHENOMENAL and if you love 80’s music you will love it as well. I think their use of “The Immigrant Song” was super clever and just added to the awesomeness of this movie. I love the characters in this movie, I think the portrayal of Hela was wonderful and I also think Cate Blanchett was a wonderful choice to play Hela. The humor is what really did it for me though, while most of the Marvel movies have humor Thor: Ragnarok just had some scenes that made me absolutely lose it. I highly recommend you watch it for your self especially if you need a good laugh.

Thor: Ragnarok is available in various formats now including DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K, Digital HD, and Movies Anywhere.
