When we moved into our 262 year old farmhouse, I knew there was a possibility of lead exposure. At Thomas’s one year visit, we found out that he had slightly evaluated lead levels. Before this, we started taking action to minimize our families lead exposure including removing old paint. Our water was also tested and found to have minimal levels and it was recommended to flush the water daily and consider using a filtration system.
I started researching filtration systems, at first we considered a built in system but we found them to be incredibly pricy and even bulky. A friend recommended I check out Epic Water Filters and they had just what we were looking for.
Epic Water Filters are American made, sustainable and have been independently certified across the globe. Their filters removed up to 99.99% of the harmful contaminants including chlorine, heavy metals, industrial & agricultural pollutants and trace pharmaceuticals.
Epic Water Filters was kind enough to send me their Epic Pure Dispenser as well as two water bottles.
The Epic Dispenser holds roughly 1.5 gallons in the bottom reservoir and has a LED timer that counts down to 90 days. However, depending on how often you fill the dispenser, you can get up to 4-6 months out of a filter. I found that the filter fits well in our fridge and is easy enough for the kids to use. It takes around 10 minutes for the filter to fill the reservoir and overall we are really happy with the Epic Dispenser.
You can purchase the Epic Dispenser for $69 or for $55.20 if you sign up for The Clean Water Club.
Epic Water Filters also offers water bottles that feature built in filters. Pictured above is the Epic Nalgene OG Special Edition Inland Ocean bottle. This bottle is part of their Artist series and they have other wonderful designs. This 48oz bottle is perfect and encourages me to drink more water.
You can purchase this design for $45 or $36 if you sign up for The Clean Water Club.
