100 Years of Swimwear

Princess Suit Measuring Tape

Did you know early swimsuits for woman were made of cotton and called Princess Suits, before that women often wore a bathing gown, woman went as far as sewing lead weights into these gowns to keep them from floating up while they were swimming or bathing in a bathhouse. Over the next 100 or so years bathing suits started to get more revealing. Form fitting suits came around in the 1930s and swimsuits for woman became much more functional. In 1946 the first Bikini debuted and as the arrival of new fabrics such as spandex and lycra the design of swimsuits drastically changed.

Always For Me is a website dedicated to providing swimwear and other apparel to plus sized woman. In fact they carry sizes 16W-26W.

The interactive guide is SUPER easy to use! You just drag and drop the different swimsuits to the beautiful woman on the right(whom reminds me of the beautiful and late Bettie Page) and once you drag the swimsuit and drop it, it is accompanied by a picture of a person wearing said swimsuit(I love looking at the historical ones) and an option to see swimsuits similar to it for purchase.

I have ALWAYS had a thing for the early swimsuits, especially 1930-1940s. I chose to look at swimsuits with similar styles to those from the 1940s. They had a very designs I just FELL in love with and the prices are super affordable.
