On May 21, 2026, our lives changed in an instant.
An early morning house fire destroyed our home, taking with it not only our belongings but also countless memories. Like so many people who experience a disaster, we suddenly found ourselves starting over from scratch.
After spending a few weeks living in hotels, we finally found a permanent place to call home. Now we’re slowly replacing what we lost and making this space feel like ours. It’s a process, and we’re taking it one room and one day at a time.
As we settled into our new place, I found myself thinking a lot about the things that make a house feel like home.
