Recently I discovered a store in the next town over from me(I reside in Ascutney VT). I do all my shopping in Claremont, NH so I decided hey, why not stop in the new spice store and check it out. I had been to other spice stores before and always leave because the prices seem a little much for me, I am all about high quality and I know most of the time, the price is worth it, but on my budget, it just isnt going to happen. So I started browsing the shelves, and noticed that the prices are very low! So I thought…hmm there has to be SOME Gimmick here?!? I have NEVER seen prices that low for spices before(I usually shop at Co ops maybe thats why). After I started talking to the shop owner, who is very nice, he explained to me the mission of his store is to bring affordable prices to everyday people by buying the spices and packaging them in store and in small quantities(as well as big). He cuts out the middleman so to speak altogether! All the spices in the store are fresh with dates printed on the package of when it was packaged. Anything over 3 months old is taken off the shelf and given to charity.
I have often found myself spending alot of money at the local Co op for a huge jar of a spice that I will never use up in time, so then it ends up getting thrown out costing me MORE Money! That is why I purchase everything from Claremont Spice and Dry Goods in 1oz packages because they stay fresher!
