Holiday Gift Guide: Guitar Hero Live Xbox 360 review.

download

I have been a gigantic fan of Guitar Hero from the state, I own almost every single edition and have spent countless hours playing. I recently saw a commercial for the new Guitar Hero Live and was VERY interested!

Guitar Hero Live  is the newest edition in the Guitar Hero serious. It is developed by FreeStyleGames and published by Activision. It was released in October to  PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

There have been some MAJOR revamps to the same since the release of past games including a revamped guitar controller that features a 6 fret layout, and a complete revamp of the in game experience. It now utilizes full motion video to simulate a real-world concert setting from the perspective of the guitarist. The revamped guitar controlled has caused some changes in the game, instead of colors that appear on the screen, The frets are represented by three scrolling lanes on-screen, containing either black or white notes representing the two rows. Lower difficulty levels use one row of buttons, while higher difficulties may include “chords” that use a combination of buttons from both rows. Depending on how well you do on each song, the crowd will actually boo at you. The playlist is loaded with some GREAT songs but you can also download songs via Guitar Hero TV.

Guitar Hero TV also has a great feature that allows you to play along in real time with other people, and challenge friends around the world.

The game requires you to have 8 GB to play the game and comes with two CDS, one install and one play disc. When you first set up the game, it brings you through a tutorial and then into game play. I really love the great selection of songs and prefer this game over the last Guitar Hero games I have played. This is already a huge hit with my family. I have no complaints.

Guitar Hero Live currently sells for $99
