Holiday Gift Guide: Litter Robot

Stephs Cheers and Jeers was provided the samples mentioned in this post in return for an unbiased review.

One task I have always dreaded is cleaning the cat box! A friend of mine told me about Litter Robot and how much she loved hers so I decided to do my own research.

Litter Robot is an automatic, self-cleaning litter box that eliminates the need to scoop your cats waste. The Litter Robot knows when your cat has done its business, the globe rotates which causes solid clumps to drop in the waste drawer, the globe then returns to its original position until the next time your cat uses it.

It is suggested to empty the waste drawer every 7-10 days depending on how many cats are in the household, The waste drawer uses kitchen bags, grocery bags or waste drawer liners which makes for really easy cleanup.  When you empty the waste drawer it is also a great idea to check the litter level.

The Litter Robot does not use special litter either. Almost any scoopable or clumping litter will work, Litters such as beads, crystals, loose clumping, newspaper-based, and wood-based pellets are not compatible though because they can either clog or damage the Litter Robot.

Experience:

I set up the Litter Robot Open Air Connect in my home for a few months and my cat refused to use it. I tried all of the suggestions that they have listed on their website to help your cat switch and my cat wanted nothing to do with it. Don’t worry though, Litter Robot has a wonderful 90-day money back guarantee.

My mother has 5 cats who instantly took to the Litter Robot the moment we set it up.

She has been using it for a little over a month and is VERY happy.

The Open Air Connect has built-in WiFi that allows you to connect it to an app that allows you to view the waste drawer level, get notifications, troubleshoot, change settings and see usage history.

Be sure to watch the video below of me talking about it more!

Litter Robot has 2 different units to choose from.

The Litter-Robot III Open Air which is not WiFi-enabled can be purchased for $449.00.

The Little Robot III Open Air with Connect(is WiFi-enabled) can be purchased for $499.00

If you already own a Little Robot III Open Air and want to make it WiFi-enabled you can purchase an upgrade kit for $100. Litter Robot also offers a wonderful selection of accessories including a ramp, cabinet, barriers and more.

  • I’ve been wanting one of these for so long. I have three cats so that is a lot of poop to scoop every day. The only reason I’ve held off on this litter box is because I think I’ll have to buy more than one for three cats and that is going to get expensive really quickly.

  • I have wanted one of these for my cats for a while, just not sure how they would take to it.

    Does litter escape easily?
