Ti’ Punch featuring Rhum Clément

Stephs Cheers and Jeers received samples mentioned in this post in exchange for being featured on our site.

Last week I had the pleasure of being a part of an informative Zoom workshop hosted by Rhum Clément to celebrate Clément Ti’ Punch Week. I had never heard of Ti’ Punch before being invited to the workshop and I sure had a blast!

About Rhum Clément:

Rhum Clément was started by political Icon Homere Clément in 1887, he purchased Domaine de l’Acajou in Le François, Martinique. What makes this product so unique is Homere encouraged the production of rum from sugar cane juices instead of molasses. This earned him the nickname of “God-Father of Rhum Agricole.”

Today, it is still produced in Le François where its founder Homère Clément and his son Charles first made it.

About Their Rums:

They offer a wide variety of rums ranging in flavor and alcohol content.

Their full line of rums includes:

  • Blanc(40% ABV)
  • Canne Bleue(50% ABV)
  • Creole Shrubb(40% ABV)
  • Mahina Coco(18% ABV)
  • Select Barrel(40% ABV)
  • VSOP(40% ABV)
  • XO Rhum((42% ABV)
  • 10 yr Rhum Vieux(42% ABV)
  • 15 yr Rhum Vieux(43% ABV)
  • Cuvee Homere(44% ABV)

I had a chance to sample their Blanc, VSOP, and XO, and the Blanc and VSOP were my favorite.

What Is Ti’ Punch?:

Ti’ Punch(Pronounced tee paunch) is the national drink of Martinique and is incredibly easy to make. You just need three ingredients: Blanc Rhum, Lime Juice, and either simple syrup or sugar.

One thing I learned during the workshop(which was hosted by Ben Jones who is the great-nephew of Homère Clément as well as the rest of the team from Clément) is there is actually no wrong way to make a Ti’ Punch. It all comes down to preference, I found that I like an entire lime in mine.

You can head over to their blog to learn more about Ti’ Punch.

I had a blast attending the workshop and I love the little goodie box that they sent. I found that Ben Jones and the rest of the staff at Clément were super friendly and it almost felt like the workshop was a bunch of old friends just socializing over drinks. It was a really fun experience and I’m super excited to have discovered Ti’ Punch.
